about
An improvisation for Will McEvoy. Will is a fantastic bass player. He's kind of from South Carolina, grew up on a horse farm in rural Maryland, spent some time in Spain, and now lives in a converted industrial loft space in the South Bronx. His loft has become my home away from home in NYC. I play in his band Mutasm, and we have a duo called Premoticon. Longer story short, we go way back.
The title comes from one of our favorite gag-inducing commercials. Can you tell us which one? "America got two things right..." Oil dependency and free jazz.
